A major advancement in 2026 is the widespread adoption of the "Mini-Sling." Unlike traditional TOT or TVT procedures that require exit incisions in the skin of the groin or abdomen, the mini-sling is placed entirely through a single small incision inside the vagina.

The mini-sling is shorter and features specialized "anchors" on either end that fix it into the internal pelvic membranes. This results in significantly less postoperative pain and a faster return to daily activities. Because there are no external skin incisions, the risk of visible scarring or external site infection is virtually eliminated.
